The story of Ayur Veg is one of pioneering companies united in the dream to bring India's vibrant, flavorful and healthy cuisine into the kitchens of North American home chefs. 

In Indian culture recipes are handed down from mother to daughters and daughter-in-laws.  So it's only fitting that the Ayur Veg story unites the culinary vision of generations of strong Indian women.


Ayur Veg began in Washington State when mom and Indian gourmand 
Sunita Shastri, seeing a need for good Indian dairy products, began manufacturing Ghee, Yogurt, sauces, chutneys and more as Meghana Foods. 

Meanwhile in nearby British Columbia the innovative Raniga Family was creating groundbreaking all-natural authentic Samosa Pastry, award-winning Indian entrees, North America's first Certified Organic Whole Wheat Naan and more. The Indianlife food legacy - as Sunita's was with Meghana Foods - is rooted in family.  

Ours is a legacy of Shastri women and Raniga women passing delicious recipes from generation to generation. And the legacy of Patriarch 
Govardhan Raniga, whose dedication to fresh, natural ingredients brought him fame for the amazingly fresh, flavorful turmeric spice he ground in the Fiji Islands using a stone mill of his own design.
